Building Bright Futures in San Bruno
Izzi purchased a former office building in San Bruno to provide a new community access to our services, and to expand our offerings for communities in need.
The cost to renovate the building has increased exponentially since our purchase, and we are fundraising to support the necessary construction to make this a functional building for children, families, and Izzi staff alike. Our goal is to begin serving families by December 2025.

San Mateo County faces a pressing shortage of affordable, high-quality child care. The numbers are stark:
Only 4% of the need for subsidized infant care is met.
48% of preschool-aged children remain underserved.
73% of parents report turning down work due to a lack of child care options.
Without intervention, these challenges will grow. Projections indicate that by 2032, San Mateo County will meet just 66% of its child care demand, down from the current rate of 71%. The shortage is compounded by workforce challenges, with 67% of child care centers reporting teacher vacancies.
WHAT WE’RE BUILDING
This renovation project in San Bruno will:
Construct a Playground
Build an Early Head Start Infant Classroom
Create a training facility for our Early Child Educator teacher training program (CDA Program)
Establish a Home Visiting Program Office for our Home Base Specialists
Create a home base for Izzi’s Operations and Administrative teams

We are currently seeking bids from construction companies to begin our renovation. Once the company is selected, the timeline for construction is slated to take 9-12 months. Below you can find current pictures of the building - and stay tuned for some progress photos and updates !
